Crawley Ice rink

For some time Laserhub has been attempting to bring ice rink to Crawley. We have made several attempts at acquiring space or buildings and these are ongoing. We have only been talking to CBC regards this since last Spring with a proposal made in September. (Not successful).

So far whilst we have some support from Councillors but have not been able to convert an interest into a reality even when no public money is involved. We will continue to propose possible sites.

Our proposals is (for various reasons) to start initially with a synthetic surface and we have spoken to the UK experts in this field as well as the National Ice Skating Association. Many grades can be carried out on the surface we propose (which we tried late spring 2009) has similar glide qualities to ice. We have sought help to identify coaches. We hope to convert this at a later stage. But what is important for us is building interest, training and financial stability.
